About

My life as a teacher

I have started teaching English in 2008 in a teaching centre for very young learners which was very inspiring for my future teaching career. Since 2010 I have taught in both public and private schools while also pursuing a doctorate degree in Education TESOL at Exeter University, which I finalized in 2015. I became certified as a teacher trainer in 2015 and delivered a training course on mobile learning.  During 2016-2018 I taught both at Babes-Bolyai University and at the Technical University in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. The courses I taught include Business English, Technical English, English Teaching Methodology-seminar and Computer Assisted Language Learning. In 2018 I became an Examiner for International Certificates as well as a freelance teacher. As a freelancer I was able to develop summer courses for children which followed a play-based curriculum. Teaching, reading and playing are my passions and I hope this website will reflect them.

Why this website?

I believe in ‘the early, the better’ principle and I would like to inspire other teachers to believe in the power of stories and play when teaching language. I would also like to promote the teaching of a foreign language as early as possible in day care centres as well as kindergartens. Therefore I will share with you my research, my teaching activities and all the teaching tips I consider valuable and helpful for teaching toddlers and young learners. If you have any questions about my work or if you have ideas you would like to share with me, please contact me at diana.cojocnean@gmail.com

Children learn as they play. Most importantly, in play children learn how to learn.
